Rose water has been used throughout history for its beauty and healing benefits, it has been used for thousands and thousands of years! Rose water is made by boiling the petals of a rose in water. Distilled water is a better option since it will keep the bacteria at bay. Bring water to a boil in a pot and add rose petals to it. Then, you reduce the water to a low setting to allow the rose petals to simmer for 20 to 30 minutes until they lose all of their color. Once they lose their color, let the mixture cool with the lid on. When the mixture is cool, store it in a glass container. A mason jar works well. Rose water can last up to six months once it is refrigerated.

Rose water has many great uses for your skin. If you suffer from skin redness, rose water has anti-inflammatory properties that will reduce the red and puffy appearance of your skin. Try placing rose water on a cotton ball and applying it to your clean face. You can also rinse your face with rose water after washing it with a cleanser.
