1. Drink Water
Your body is dehydrated when you wake up. Before consuming any food, you should drink a large glass of water. You can add lemon or cucumber slices for taste and hydration.

2. Stretch
Your body has been inactive for 7 to 9 hours. You should implement stretching or yoga into your morning routine. It doesn’t have to be a long routine; 10 minutes will suffice.

3. Eat breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You need a good source of fuel for your body to start the day. A combination of protein, fruits, and healthy grains will set you up for success.

4. Practice gratitude
When you wake up, instead of immediately thinking about what you have to do for the day or worries that cross your mind, take a moment to be grateful. Think about 3 to 5 things you’re grateful for in your life. They don’t have to be extravagant – it can be your good health, a friend, or a new opportunity.

5. Brush your teeth
Always start your morning with brushing your teeth. After sleeping for many hours, it’s most likely you have bad breath. You should feel fresh in the morning, add a minty mouthwash!

6. Be silent
Take a few minutes in the morning to be silent and reflect. Think about what you want to accomplish for the day and how you want to feel for the day. Create a reward for yourself at the end of the day to look forward to once you complete your responsibilities. It’s important to do one thing you enjoy each day.

7. Create a priority list
Think about the most important things you need to accomplish to have a productive day. Don’t get lost into the small details, that can be overwhelming. Instead, realistically list the items you can and must get done for the day to be productive. It can be 3 to 5 items!

8. Log off electronics
Don’t check social media or emails first thing in the morning when you wake up. This is a detrimental habit you should try to fix. Your mind will immediately jump into work mode and you can experience stress when you haven’t even prepared for the day at all.
